Bradford is located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire.  It includes the villages ofor Melvin Mills and Bradford Center.  The town is situated 36 miles from Manchester and 90 miles from Boston.  It is located at the intersection of Routes 103 and 114.

Bradford is known as a year-round vacation destination, due to its many beaches and its close proximity to three state parks and ski areas.  Bradford is home to Lake Masasecum and Lake Todd, which provide many fishing opportunities.  The town is  also home to the historic Bement Covered Bridge.  

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Bradford was home to 1,454 residents.  This included 559 households and 403 families.  The average family size was 2.96 and the average household size was 2.56.  Bradford is comprised of 35.3 square miles of land and 0.7 square miles of water.
