Rockingham Real Estate

Rockingham is located in Windham County, Vermont.  It includes the unincorporated villages of Bellows Falls and Saxtons River. It is the second largest community in Windham County.  Rockingham is situated on the banks of the Connecticut River.

Rockingham is mostly rural, but also includes Victorian style residential neighborhoods, commercial centers, industrial areas and a Village Square.

Rockingham offers many outdoor recreational opportunities including golfing, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and skating.

Rockingham is home to the Rockingham Meetings House, which is Vermont’s oldest public building that still exists in a condition close to its original state.  Also known as Old North Meeting House, and First Church in Rockingham, the building is listed as a National Historic Landmark and today is operated as a museum.  It is located on Old North Meeting House Road.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Rockingham was home to 5,309 esidents.  This included 2,202 households and 1,387 families.  The average family size was 2.96 and the average household size was 2.39.  Rockingham, Vermont is comprised of 41.9 square miles of land and 0.4 square miles of water.
